Saturday March 20th is International Quilting Day. To celebrate, many quilt guilds, groups, & individuals will hang quilts outside on balconies, clotheslines, over fences, or even in windows. Everyone is encouraged to display a quilt on this day to help bring some colour and joy to make the world a little brighter. It doesn’t have to be a quilt you made, honour a quilt gifted to you by putting it on display anywhere from 9am to 3pm. Snap a picture and share to our facebook/website page. Children are encouraged to participate by colouring/decorating a quilt block colour page available below (printable PDF is below) or at the AVUC office. Take a drive or walk around your community/neighbourhood and see if you can spot any quilts on display. Alberni Valley United Church will focus on creativity for the reflection on Sunday the 21st. Please join us in celebration of God’s creativity as some quilts will be on display in our virtual sanctuary.
