Intentional Communication from AVUC Council
AVUC Council is looking forward to the time when small group and worship gatherings might be viable again. In the mean time, we are doing all that we can to provide virtual support and limited in person support. We encourage you to phone Sarah in the office if you would like information about how to connect with our Virtual Neighborhood activities or to communicate with Rev. Minnie. 250 723 8332.
In the interest of the safety of staff, congregation, user groups and the larger community, AVUC Council compiled a Risk Assessment and Management Plan while consulting the guiding principles of BC Medical Health Officers, WorkSafe BC, and United Church of Canada. With our own facility use policies and building requirements in mind along with COVID 19 good practice guidelines, this comprehensive document synthesizes our discussions. Many actions are to be taken in advance of reduced or full capacity reopening to minimize risk to any and all who attend. This includes but is not limited to calculating physical distance capacity, efficient practice for physical distancing (re: pews), use of masks and directional guidelines to reduce congestion exposure, and washroom sanitizing protocol.
This document and the Small Group Covid Safety Briefing have been submitted to Gail Miller, our Regional representative to ensure nothing is missing. It will be made available via e-blast when we receive word it is complete.
Safety is central to all the decisions made and as such, we seek the support of teams and volunteers to carry out these recommendations so that at such time small groups and/or regular worship are deemed viable, we will be ready to the best of our ability to keep all who participate, safe.
We continue to keep HOPE at the CENTRE.
