Pastoral Care Ministry

What is Pastoral Care?  The Pastoral Care team is a group of people who practice doing for others.  As a team and individually, they offer prayers for those in need.  They send cards to remember special occasions such as baptisms, Farewell cards for those moving on and sympathy cards for those in grief.  The team offers transportation to and from church for those who need it, and visit those in the hospital to offer love and support.  The team recognizes Graduates every year, and keeps in contact by telephone those who are house-bound.  The team gathers together to make up Christmas treat bags for those people stuck at home to offer some Christmas cheer.  And now that the United Church Women have amalgamated with the Pastoral Care team, together they host a Happy Times tea every second month for Care home people to get out and mingle, enjoy some entertainment and coffee, tea and sandwiches.

The Pastoral Care team also has within it a sub-committee, the Catering team.  Catering organizes and gathers together food and people to prepare food, set up the hall, clean up the hall and kitchen afterward for Memorial teas, Fundraising dinners, luncheons, lunches for the annual Bazaars, picnics and special events.  This team is dedicated to providing a wonderful experience for everyone!
